Investigating Where We Live: 2018
Subject
National Building Museum (U.S.)
Public History
Description
Each year during the summer, participating high school students collaborate with the National Building Museum to create a display that discusses the intersections between community and history. This short video follows young adults as they participate in conversations with community members who were teenagers during 1968, a time wrought with massive social and political changes. Utilizing the oral history they received, the teens are shown creating an installation in the National Building Museum, which boasted 15,000 visitors over the four months it was open.
