Description
This is a letter of recommendation for Audrey Louise Brown written by Carrie E. Pettipher on May 15, 1936 . Pettipher was the office secretary of The National Training School for Women and Girls, Inc. run by Nannie H. Burroughs. The letter lists Brown's qualifications for an unnamed position and solidly recommends her. After Brown's graduation, she became a friend of Pettipher. Also included in this correspondence is a statement from Pettipher listing Brown's age and place of birth in Yallahs, Jamaica in the British West Indies. The envelope addressed to Brown shows her address in the Bloomingdale neighborhood address in Washington, DC.
