This interview with Regina Paige Prince was recorded at the Southeast Veterans' Services Center in Washington, DC.

Prince enlisted in the United States Army on 30 September 1985, joining B Company Bravo 62, also known as Brick City. Born and raised in Washington, DC Prince came from a military family and saw enlistment as a path to a better life.

Despite having to deal with antagonistic drill sergeants and traumatic experiences during basic, she describes the overall experience as fun. After basic she went to signal training at Ft. Gordon, Georgia, and began working for 72 Echo Field Communications thereafter.

She enjoyed being stationed in Korea during the 1988 Olympics, and intended to serve a 20 year career in the Army. Unfortunately, during the Persian Gulf War, she was injured, and was no longer able to serve.
