Description
The Underwood Five was one of the most popular typewriter models from its introduction in 1901 until the proliferation of word processors and computers. This Underwood, on display in Matthews Memorial Baptist Church’s Russell Hall, was used by Reverend Dr. Wendell P. Russell who served as the church's sixth pastor from 1979 to 1991. Pastor Russell routinely used this typewriter to author his sermons, one of which has been rolled into the typewriter's spool.
