This oral history project documents women who have made significant contribution to film in Washington, DC during the period between 1980 and 2010.
(Disc 1) Pat Aufderheide talks about her introduction to film as a critic for a local newspaper in Minneapolis, Minnesota, her increasing interest in media policy, and her present endeavors at American University including the foundation of the Center for Social Media.
(Disc 2) Aufderheide discusses her involvement in the feminist movement of the 1970s, the challenges faced by women in the film industry, and her research into fairuse practices.
