Enslaved Labor and the Capital, a lecture by Felicia Bell, is one of a series of lectures for the Emancipation Week Commemorative Celebration 2006. Bell using images of old documents in her presentation to show how slave owners addressed their slaves. She covers the treatment and working conditions of slaves during the construction of Washington DC in the 18th century. One of the may statue that used slave labor was with the statue of Freedom.
