This film is comprised primarily of clips from a video oral history with John H. Pinkard, Jr., one of the founders of the FotoCraft Camera Club. The group was founded in 1937, and met at the Anthony Bowen YMCA in Washington, DC.

Girls dance on the church terrace. They were participants in the interracial Community Vacation School, sponsored first by the Friends Meeting and later jointly with All Souls Church, during the summers of 1944-1950.
Boys learn to use hand tools at the Metropolitan Police's No. 10 Boy's Club which met at All Souls from 1937 to 1954. The club moved out after declining the church's request that it drop its whites only policy.
